Apple Signs 5-Year Content Deal with Former HBO CEO Who Created 'Game of Thrones'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Apple has signed an exclusive five-year content production contract for its TV streaming service with Richard Plepler, former CEO of HBO, according to reports by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal on the 2nd local time.
Plepler is an expert in the entertainment industry with 27 years of experience.
According to major foreign media, Apple recently signed a five-year exclusive content supply contract with Eden Productions, founded by Plepler, planning to showcase original TV series, documentaries, and feature films exclusively for Apple TV Plus.
Apple, which entered the entertainment market by launching Apple TV Plus last November, has signed content production contracts with Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, and others.
