[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 3rd, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has purchased 1.1 hectares of farmland in Sinwol-ri, Gokseong-eup, and established a scientific farming demonstration field equipped with one management office and five smart facility greenhouses.
Gokseong-gun plans to utilize the scientific farming demonstration field as a research and on-site training center for regionally specialized crops, aiming to create a foundation for discovering and expanding new specialized crops. Additionally, by providing systematic practical training tailored to different levels of farmers, they intend to strengthen farmers' capabilities and enhance the competitiveness of local agriculture.
The director of the Agricultural Technology Center and all staff from the Technology Extension Division visited the scientific farming demonstration field on the 2nd as their first task after completing the 2020 New Year's opening ceremony. The attendees shared their opinions to establish demonstration field operation plans related to their respective duties.
In the future, Gokseong-gun plans to purchase additional land near the scientific farming demonstration field to concentrate agricultural research facilities.
