'Animals Living in the Han River, Searching for Swans'... Han River Ecology Classroom Opens
Seodaemun Natural History Museum, 'Ecology of the Hangang River' Experience Class on the 15th and 18th from 9 AM to 5 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will hold a winter semester experience class titled "Animals Living in the Han River, Searching for Swans" for elementary school students in grades 2 to 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 15th and 18th.
Participating children will search for traces of mammals living around the Han River at Godeok Waterside Ecological Park in the morning, learning about their ecology and habits. They will also learn about efforts for coexistence between humans and nature.
In the afternoon, through an exploration of the Dangjeong Island area, one of the largest migratory bird habitats in the metropolitan area, they will learn about various winter migratory birds living in the Han River and directly observe the lively appearance of winter migratory birds using binoculars and birdwatching telescopes.
In particular, there is an expectation to confirm the natural monument No. 201 "Goni," known as the swan, on site.
This experience class will be held twice with the same program, allowing 40 participants per day, totaling 80 participants. Additionally, six people including curators and instructors will accompany the group for educational guidance.
Museum annual members can apply for participation on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seodaemun Natural History Museum website starting at 10 a.m. on the 7th of this month, and general members can apply starting at 10 a.m. on the 9th.
The participation fee is 37,000 KRW per person, including the experience, lunch, travel insurance, and vehicle use. Please note that guardians cannot participate together.
