Hyundai Kia Motors Confirms Global Sales Target of 7,536,000 Units for This Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hyundai Motor Group has set the annual sales target for Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors at 7,536,000 units this year.
Hyundai Motor announced on the 2nd that it plans to sell a total of 4,576,000 units, with 732,000 units domestically and 3,844,000 units exported this year. Compared to last year's target, domestic sales were raised by 20,000 units, while exports were lowered by 24,000 units. Kia Motors set its sales target at a total of 2,960,000 units, including 520,000 units domestically and 2,440,000 units exported.
Thus, Hyundai Kia Motors' annual sales target for this year was decided at 7,536,000 units. This is more than 60,000 units less than the 7,600,000 units target set in 2019.
Hyundai Kia Motors' global sales targets at the beginning of the year were ▲7,410,000 units in 2013 ▲7,860,000 units in 2014 ▲8,200,000 units in 2015 ▲8,130,000 units in 2016 ▲8,250,000 units in 2017, increasing every year. However, since 2018, the target has remained around 7,500,000 units for three consecutive years.

Meanwhile, last year Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors sold a total of 7,193,337 units globally, with 4,422,644 units and 2,770,693 units respectively. This fell short of the initial sales target of 7,600,000 units by about 400,000 units.
