Hyundai Motor Company announced on January 5 that its next-generation autonomous driving mobility robot platform, MobED, won the Best Innovation Award in the robotics category at CES 2026, held in Las Vegas, USA, on January 4 (local time).

This is the first time Hyundai Motor Company has received an innovation award at CES, and being recognized with the highest honor, the Best Innovation Award, is seen as an achievement that acknowledges both its robotics technology and product competitiveness.

The mass-production version of MobED, first unveiled at the International Robot Exhibition (iREX) in Japan in December 2025, was reborn after about three years of product development since the concept model was introduced at CES 2022, making it easy to use in various industries and everyday life.

Driving Stability Beyond Terrain Limits
Top Modules for Delivery, Logistics, Filming
Simple and Convenient Coupling
Over 4 Hours of Driving on a Single Charge
Maximum Load Capacity 47~57kg
Mass Production Three Years After First Reveal
Sales Planned from Q1 This Year

The most notable feature of MobED is its "driving stability beyond terrain limits." By applying the eccentric wheel-based "DnL (Drive-and-Lift)" module, it can adjust its body tilt as desired even on uneven surfaces or slopes, enabling stable driving. In addition, its minimalist and refined design allows users to simply and conveniently couple top modules for delivery, logistics, or filming, making it highly versatile across various industries.

Another strength is its user-friendly interface, which allows anyone to operate it easily. The separate controller is implemented with a 3D graphic-based touchscreen, providing an intuitive and convenient user experience that anyone can master with ease.

With a width of 74 cm, a length of 115 cm, and a maximum speed of 10 km/h, MobED can operate for over four hours on a single charge. Depending on the lineup, the maximum load capacity ranges from 47 to 57 kg. The product lineup consists of the "Basic" model for research and development of autonomous robots and the "Pro" model equipped with autonomous driving technology, with sales scheduled to begin in the first quarter of this year.

Hyun Dongjin, Executive Director and Head of Robotics Lab at Hyundai Motor Company, stated, "Winning the Best Innovation Award demonstrates that Hyundai Motor Group's robotics technology is evolving to enhance the value of everyday life. We will continue to develop AI-based robot autonomous driving technology to deliver innovative solutions that are even closer to our customers."
