Just Eating Eggs Twice a Week... Dementia Risk Drops Significantly
A study has found that adopting easy-to-practice dietary habits can significantly help prevent dementia. People who frequently eat eggs have up to a 27% lower risk of developing dementia compared to those who do not consume eggs. According to a recent report by the UK's Daily Mail, researchers at Loma Linda University in the United States observed approximately 40,000 adults over a period of 15 years. The results showed that individuals who ate eggs one to two times a month had a 17% lower risk of dementia compared to those who never consumed eggs. When the frequency increased to two to four times a week, the risk reduction expanded to 20%. In the group that consumed eggs five or more times a week, the risk was observed to decrease by up to 27%. Choline and Vitamin B12: Key Nutrients for Maintaining Brain FunctionThe research team focused on the key nutrients found in eggs. The Truth Behind the $13,000 "Cardboard Dress": How a Luxury Scam Spread on Social Media
An image of the so-called "cardboard dress," which drew attention online as a product from the French luxury brand Balenciaga, has been confirmed to be a fake generated by artificial intelligence (AI). On April 12, 2026 (local time), the Times of India reported that the widely circulated photos of the dress on social media were not from an actual collection but were AI-generated composite images. In particular, images staged as if Megan Fox and Robert Pattinson were wearing the outfits spread widely, leading to misunderstandings that these were actual runway scenes. Claims that this dress was priced at $8,900 (approximately 13 million KRW) gained trust but were all found to be false.Analysts say that the rapid spread of this misinformation was largely influenced by Balenciaga's track record with previous products. Over the years, Balenciaga has sparked both controversy and attention by turning everyday items into fashion pieces, such as pay-as-you-throw garbage bags, snack wrappers, tu
"Never Drink This at Night, Especially for Women"... A Beverage That Causes More Serious Symptoms Than Insomnia [Experiment Note]
Editor's NoteOne now, or two if you wait. Do you remember the marshmallow experiment, which observed children's choices? Sometimes, simple research can change the way we look at life. Let's take a fresh look at our daily routines through the lens of experimental data. There is one thing that is always present during late-night work: coffee. More specifically, the help of caffeine in coffee is needed. Caffeine enhances alertness, boosts concentration, and reduces fatigue. However, a recent study suggests that this habit could lead to unexpected consequences. Researchers at the University of Texas at El Paso recently announced findings that caffeine consumed at night can increase impulsive behavior. The research team conducted experiments on fruit flies to examine how caffeine affects behavioral inhibition and impulsivity. They varied the time of caffeine intake (day or night), the amount consumed, and whether the flies were sleep-deprived, then observed their reactions to unpleasant sti

"They Said, 'Kimchi Is Essential on Korean Tables'... Experts Warn of Cancer Risk, Causing Surprise"
Experts have issued a warning that kimchi, an essential side dish on Korean tables, could potentially cause cancer. They point out that depending on storage conditions, kimchi may actually be harmful to human health. Moon Changshik, President of the Korean Society of Integrative Oncology and a board-certified surgeon, recently appeared on a YouTube channel to emphasize precautions when consuming kimchi stored in the refrigerator. He noted, "We tend to check expiration dates carefully for foods purchased from supermarkets, but we are often less attentive to foods stored at home," citing kimchi as a typical example. Kimchi: A Representative Antioxidant and Fermented FoodKimchi is made by salting vegetables such as napa cabbage, adding various seasonings, and then fermenting the mixture. During this process, lactic acid bacteria such as Leuconostoc and Lactobacillus are produced, making kimchi rich in lactic acid and various organic acids. Dr. Moon stated, "Kimchi is both a fermented and
The Higher the Price, the Better It Sells in Korea... Luxury Brands Post Record Sales Despite "Gutsy" Price Hikes
Despite a downturn in consumer sentiment due to high interest rates and inflation, the luxury market is displaying a completely different trend. Even as major brands continue to raise prices, demand has remained resilient, leading to a clear pattern where price hikes are actually driving sales growth. Experts attribute this to the robust demand in the Korean market, which allows brands to raise prices assertively. Bvlgari Achieves Record-High Sales and ProfitsAccording to the audit report released on April 8, Bvlgari Korea posted record results last year, with sales reaching 574 billion won and operating profit at 108.9 billion won. The medium to long-term trend has been equally dramatic. In 2021, sales stood at around 270 billion won, but within just a few years, they have more than doubled. This is attri
[Kim Jaeho's Life Story]<276> Complications Far More Frightening Than Diabetes
According to the 2024 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the prevalence of diabetes was 13.3% for men and 7.8% for women. According to the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, the number of people receiving medical treatment for diabetes increased by 18.9% over four years, from 3.33 million in 2020 to 3.96 million in 2024. These statistics, along with the fact that many people around us struggle with diabetes, show that diabetes is close to us and not just someone else's problem. Diabetes refers to a state in which blood glucose, or blood sugar, remains consistently high. The name comes from the fact that glucose, which cannot be reabsorbed by the kidneys, is excreted in the urine. If high blood sugar continues in diabetes, what problems might it cause for us? The cells in our body survive by taking in glucose from the blood and using oxygen to convert it into energy. Therefore, if blood sugar drops too low, the cells starve. "These Pre-Bedtime Habits Can Damage Your Heart"... Experts Warn of 4 Risky Behaviors
Experts have issued a warning that sleep habits can significantly impact heart health. They point out that repeated behaviors before bedtime may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, emphasizing the need to review pre-sleep routines. On March 30 (local time), the Daily Mail introduced bedtime habits that can harm heart health and ways to improve them, citing advice from Dr. Cynthia Kos, a cardiologist at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Kos explained, "Sleep is a crucial period during which both the body and mind recover, and the heart also gets to rest in its most relaxed state." During sleep, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, heart rate and blood pressure decrease, and the heart's workload is reduced. However, she noted that this process can be easily disrupted by poor lifestyle habits, and identified four major pre-sleep behaviors that can harm heart health.Irregular Sleep Patterns and Late-Night Eating...
