According to Dongshin University on April 21, the university has continuously been selected for the Blue Ladder project in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025, and again this year, thereby systematically strengthening its students’ global competitiveness. With the simultaneous selection for both projects this year, even more tangible results are expected in providing students with opportunities for career exploration and strengthening their global capabilities.

The 'Blue Ladder Project' is a program that provides international training opportunities to university students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them develop global competence and career exploration skills. Dongshin University plans to select 30 participants—25 from Dongshin and 5 from other universities—and conduct a four-week overseas training program in New Zealand from July 11 to August 8.

The program includes English language training at the English Language Academy (ELA) affiliated with the University of Auckland in New Zealand, homestay experiences, cultural and historical tours, special lectures on career development, and company visits. Notably, in response to the era of major AI transformation, the program has been enhanced to compare AI policies and industries in Korea and New Zealand, and to cultivate leadership skills needed for the future. All educational and accommodation expenses required for the overseas training will be fully covered.

In addition, Dongshin University will send two students to the Fukuoka campus of Japan University of Economics through the Korea-Japan University Student Exchange program. The selected students will participate in Japanese language courses and local corporate internships for about 16 weeks, from late August to early December, thereby developing both practical skills and a global perspective. This program also covers overall expenses, including training and accommodation costs.

To maximize the effectiveness of these training programs, Dongshin University will offer systematic pre- and post-training education. The pre-training phase will include basic competency education, language training, career exploration, AI special lectures, and team projects. After returning, the university plans to expand learning outcomes through further language and AI-related programs, contests, and performance presentations.

Dongshin University will hold information sessions for students interested in participating in the projects from April 27 to 29, and accept applications until April 30. Final participants will be selected through interviews scheduled for May 6 and 7.

President Lee Juhui of Dongshin University stated, "We hope that our students will gain new experiences on the global stage, design their own career paths, and leap toward a bigger future," and added, "We will continue to expand global education opportunities and do our utmost to nurture talent that will lead the region and the nation."
