KEPCO Included in DJBIC Asia Pacific Index for 12 Consecutive Years...Only Public Enterprise Selected
Recognized for Innovation in ESG Management System
Aiming for Inclusion in the "World Index"
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) has been selected as an outstanding company in global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) evaluations for 12 consecutive years, making it the only public enterprise to achieve this distinction. This recognition is attributed to KEPCO’s innovation in its sustainable management system and enhanced ESG competitiveness, which have earned the trust of global investors regarding its sustainability management capabilities.
On May 12, KEPCO announced that it has been included for the 12th consecutive year in the “2026 Dow Jones Best-in-Class (DJBIC) Asia Pacific Index,” recently published by S&P Global. The DJBIC is a renamed version of the former “Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).”
The DJBIC is a global sustainability management index that comprehensively evaluates ESG performance, selecting top companies in each industry sector. It is categorized into “World,” “Asia Pacific,” and “Korea” indices, and is used as a standard for responsible investment by global investors.
The “Asia Pacific” index, which includes KEPCO, only admits the top 20% of companies among the 600 largest firms in the Asia and Oceania region. This year, 46 domestic companies, including LG Energy Solution, SK Innovation, and Naver, were selected, with KEPCO being the only public enterprise to be listed.
Notably, KEPCO achieved a score of 76 in this year’s evaluation, a 10-point increase from the previous year. KEPCO believes that its continued improvement of the ESG management system, even under challenging business conditions, was highly regarded in the assessment.
Building on this achievement, KEPCO plans to challenge for inclusion in the “World Index,” which is limited to the top 10% of the world’s 2,500 largest companies.
