SAMSUNG E&A is accelerating efforts to strengthen its smart safety management.
On May 21, SAMSUNG E&A announced that it had held the "Work Stop Right 2.0 (S.A.Y ON) Resolution Rally" at the Pyeongtaek Project site the previous day. The event was attended by approximately 60 participants, including Vice President Baek Seungho, Chief Safety Officer (CSO) of SAMSUNG E&A, Lee Kyunghwan, Head of the Pyeongtaek Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Kim Kyuwan, Head of the Southern Gyeonggi Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, among others.

The system allows on-site workers to immediately halt operations if they perceive a dangerous situation. To improve user convenience and encourage the use of the system, SAMSUNG E&A developed its own mobile application, "S.A.Y ON," at the end of last year.
SAMSUNG E&A is thoroughly committed to safety management, centering on its proprietary safety culture brand "S.A.Y," which was launched in 2023. S.A.Y represents a safety culture in which management, employees, partner companies, and on-site workers all participate across every aspect of the company's work and management. With S.A.Y at its core, SAMSUNG E&A is focusing on strengthening three axes of safety activities—autonomy, prevention, and smart technology—and ensuring accident prevention.
The signature program representing SAMSUNG E&A's autonomy and participation is the "S.A.Y Forum." The S.A.Y Forum brings together project stakeholders, including clients and partner companies, to share the project's safety vision and values. Forums are held at the initial, activation, and completion phases of major projects, thereby enhancing the safety and quality of these projects. To date, the S.A.Y Forum has been held at major domestic and international sites, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Malaysia, Songdo, and Pyeongtaek.
In addition, preventive, site-based management systems are being strengthened through initiatives such as the "Safety Correction Action Request (S-CAR)" system, which aims to eliminate potential hazards in advance, and the "Daily Safety and Health Activities (DSC)" system, which systematizes the inspection of risk factors, meetings, and monitoring on a daily basis before starting work.
SAMSUNG E&A is also focusing on the development and application of smart safety technologies through investment. The company has introduced wearable devices such as smart safety harnesses and wearable airbag protection gear, as well as AI-based video analytics CCTV and forklift collision detection systems at its sites. By adding site inspections using drones and quadruped robots, SAMSUNG E&A is shifting the paradigm of safety management to a technology-based approach.
