Late-Night Bus, Seomyeon, and Busan Station Relay Campaign
Officially Kicks Off Election Race
Hyungjun Park, the People Power Party candidate for Busan mayor, officially kicked off his campaign by boarding a late-night bus at midnight on the first day of the official election campaign, May 21, 2026. Park chose the late-night bus as his first activity, stating he wanted to be the first to hear the voices of citizens returning home late at night.
Park began his first campaign event in front of Sindonga Market at Jagalchi, Jung-gu, Busan, at around midnight. He then boarded bus number 59, which arrived at 12:02 a.m., and spent about 20 minutes greeting citizens on the way to Busanjin Station.

Though surprised to suddenly encounter a mayoral candidate on the late-night bus, citizens responded to Park's greetings with smiles.
Park’s campaign team explained that this event was a field-oriented campaign designed to communicate directly with citizens by using public transportation and to be the first to hear the voices of those traveling late at night.
