He also proposed establishing a cultural tourism foundation, expanding bus routes connecting new towns and traditional markets, implementing an efficient delivery system, and developing a model for mutual growth with large retail stores. He emphasized the need for differentiated development strategies tailored to the characteristics of each market.
Merchants' association representatives who participated in the meeting suggested operating revitalization funds tailored to each market, designating and operating a "car-free street" once a week, running a circulator bus to improve accessibility to traditional markets, applying a 15% year-round discount rate for Onnuri gift certificates at traditional markets, abolishing restrictions on the use of local currency (Hamoney) in stores with annual sales exceeding 3 billion won, and devising customized support measures for neighborhood merchants.
After listening to the merchants' suggestions, Lee pledged, "We will spare no effort in providing municipal funding if selected for Gyeonggi-do matching projects." Regarding the 2 billion won budget for market revitalization, he responded that the most rational use plan would be derived through a professional study.
