Police Refer Kim Seui Without Detention for 'Unreported Rally'
Suspected Violation of the Assembly and Demonstration Act
Kim Seui, CEO of Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon), has been referred to the prosecution on charges of holding an unreported nighttime rally in front of a police station, calling for the release of former Korea Communications Commission Chairwoman Lee Jinsook.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 15th that Kim and other participants of the rally have been referred without detention for violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act.

View original imageAccording to the police, Kim and others are accused of holding a rally using microphones without prior notification in front of the main gate of Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul at around 9 p.m. on October 2 last year, during the Chuseok holiday.
At that time, former Chairwoman Lee was detained at Yeongdeungpo Police Station. Some of the participants reportedly chanted slogans such as "Lee Jinsook, stay strong."
