Supporting Smart Work Innovation for Local Businesses

The Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Gyeongsang Province (Chairman: Yoon Jaeho) held the "Introduction to Various AI Applications" program on May 15 in the main conference room on the first floor of the chamber, with 24 executives and employees from local companies in attendance.

This program is the first of its kind this year, following the strong response received from last year’s AI training sessions.

It was designed with the goal of improving work efficiency and automating documentation processes.

Notably, the instructor was Choi Jeongbin, a certified AI expert by Microsoft, who delivered in-depth, practical content focused on real-world applications.

The curriculum included practical sessions on AI literacy and security, prompt engineering, document creation and data visualization, and AI workflow integration.

Participants also engaged in hands-on team collaboration and document automation exercises using ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot (including Teams and SharePoint).

This training is part of an AI education initiative for employees. Employees of priority support companies who complete more than 80% of the course are eligible for a 95% reimbursement of the training fee.

The Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to continue systematically supporting the AI adoption capabilities of local companies by holding follow-up training sessions in August and October.

Shim Gyujeong, team leader at the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "Smart work innovation using AI is no longer a choice, but an essential competency," adding, "We hope this training will encourage workers to actively adopt AI in their daily work and enhance their productivity."

The enthusiasm for AI training in Gumi’s manufacturing sector is expected to lead to smart innovation in the regional economy.
