Cultural Heritage Administration and Shinsegae Launch Media Art Competition
King Sejong the Great as the Theme
Total Prize Money of 50 Million Won
The Cultural Heritage Administration and Shinsegae Department Store announced on May 15 that they will hold a global media art competition titled "King Sejong the Great: The Beginning of Creation" from June 15 to August 7. The initiative aims to reinterpret national heritage in the fields of science and art as contemporary media art, inspired by the creative spirit of King Sejong the Great.
Participants are required to create content utilizing the digital assets of the Cultural Heritage Administration. The winning works will be released on the giant electronic billboard at the main branch of Shinsegae Department Store.
The Original category seeks anamorphic works ranging from 30 to 90 seconds, while the Template category is for short media art pieces of about 5 seconds. Anamorphic technology creates a virtual three-dimensional space on a flat screen, maximizing 3D realism.
