Through this agreement, the two companies will jointly pursue the development of satellite-based earth observation technologies and data analytics service businesses. They also plan to consider establishing local infrastructure such as ground stations, data processing systems, and data distribution platforms, as well as commercializing value-added data services.
In particular, the companies intend to expand the use of satellite data in areas with high local demand, including disaster response, maritime and forest monitoring, infrastructure management, and environmental and climate analysis.
Indonesia, comprising over 17,000 islands, is considered a market with strong demand for satellite-based communications and earth observation. Across Southeast Asia, the satellite data utilization market is also growing rapidly, driven by increasing needs related to urbanization and climate change response.
