Declares a "Double Transportation Revolution" with GTX-C and Expressway

Park envisions establishing a "double metropolitan transportation network" by simultaneously expanding both rail and road infrastructure, thereby doubling Dongducheon's mobility and urban competitiveness.
Park stated that he would focus the city's administrative resources and make every effort to secure national funding to ensure the early start of the GTX-C Dongducheon extension project. Through this, he plans to achieve a 30-minute commute zone to Gangnam, dramatically reducing both the psychological and physical distance from Seoul.
Another key pledge is to actively pursue the early construction of the Seoul–Dongducheon–Yeoncheon expressway. Park emphasized that the simultaneous development of the GTX line and the expressway would complete a "double transportation revolution," accelerating both rail and road transit.
In particular, Park aims to overcome Dongducheon's biggest weakness—transportation accessibility—and elevate the city as a key transportation hub in northern Gyeonggi Province. With significantly reduced travel times to major points in Seoul and the metropolitan area, he explained that not only will commuting become more convenient for citizens, but corporate investment and industrial competitiveness will also be enhanced.
He also introduced practical, everyday-oriented pledges to address transportation inconveniences felt by citizens. These include the early construction of the GTX metropolitan transfer center and facilitating GTX-C trains to stop at Jihaeng Station to increase convenience for rail users, as well as expanding the number and frequency of Express Line 1 trains, shortening train intervals, and securing nighttime transportation options linked to the last train to reduce commuting and late-night travel inconveniences.
Additionally, Park announced plans to improve access to the Second Metropolitan Ring Expressway in the Dongducheon and Pocheon directions, expand the operation of the "Dongteul-i" elementary school care shuttle bus, and enhance AI-based smart traffic signal systems and smart bus stops, all to strengthen citizen convenience and transportation safety.
Park stressed, "The double metropolitan transportation network, created by combining the GTX line and the expressway, is the driving force that will change Dongducheon's future," adding, "I will make Dongducheon a city where transportation is twice as fast and convenient, and where citizens’ time truly comes alive."
