He particularly emphasized, "We will expand home medical services, which were previously limited to a select few, to all citizens, and actively support those with mobility difficulties and chronic illnesses so they can receive professional care in their own homes."
Shin further stated, "Until now, when a loved one passed away at home, grieving families had to face the harsh reality of waiting for police on-site verification and the prosecutor’s instructions." He added, "In Seongnam, we will pursue a system innovation that eliminates these painful procedures by allowing doctors from designated medical institutions to immediately issue death certificates, so that dignified and respectful funeral processes can begin at home right away."
Shin also said, "Seongnam has already become the leading economic city in Korea, with annual local sales approaching 500 trillion won, thanks to the 'diamond-shaped industrial belt.'" He continued, "But a truly strong city is not defined by economic power alone—it is one that warmly cares for its citizens throughout their entire lives, from cradle to grave."
He stressed, "By recommending to the central government that home death procedures be streamlined and institutionalized, we will make this ‘dignified end of life’ started in Seongnam the standard for Korea and a right for all citizens."
