Kyongbok University Selected as Ministry of Education's 'AI and Digital Transformation (AID) Focused Vocational College'
Kyongbok University has established a foundation to become a key hub university for nurturing AI and digital talent in the northern Gyeonggi Province region.
On May 13, the university announced that it had been finally selected for the "2026 AID (AI+Digital) Transformation-Focused Vocational College Support Project" promoted by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Kyongbok University was chosen as an independent project group in the metropolitan area, thereby being recognized for its capabilities in AI-based educational innovation and its competitiveness in industry-linked practical training.
The "AID Transformation-Focused Vocational College Support Project" is a newly launched initiative this year aimed at establishing an AI and digital education system centered on vocational colleges, as well as driving innovation in career and lifelong education for not only current students but also local residents and employees.
Selected universities will, over the next two years, build specialized education models for AI and digital transformation, revise curricula, upgrade practical training infrastructure, and promote education linked to local industry.
Kyongbok University has set the core direction of this project not as simple AI utilization education, but as practical training that integrates majors (X) with AI.
