Mirae Industry CEO Lee Changjae Receives Deputy Prime Minister's Commendation for Science and Technology Promotion Merit
Mirae Industry, a company specializing in semiconductor post-processing inspection equipment, announced on May 12 that CEO Lee Changjae has received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Commendation as part of the 2026 Science Day Science and Technology Promotion Merit Awards.
The Science and Technology Promotion Merit Award is a system that selects and awards researchers and industry figures who have contributed to the advancement of science and technology in Korea. CEO Lee was recognized for his contributions to advancing the technology of key post-processing equipment such as semiconductor test handlers and expanding into global markets.
Mirae Industry focuses primarily on its test handler (ATE) business, which is responsible for the final inspection of finished semiconductor products, as well as its Molded Array Inserter (MAI) business. Since CEO Lee Changjae took office, the company has concentrated on strengthening its research and development (R&D) capabilities, accelerating the localization of core equipment and improving the efficiency of memory semiconductor inspection processes.
In particular, by securing technologies that enhance efficiency in memory semiconductor inspection processes for NAND flash and DRAM, Mirae Industry has acquired global semiconductor device manufacturers as clients, which has also led to tangible results in overseas market expansion. The company has been evaluated as having strengthened both cost competitiveness and quality competitiveness, driven by technological innovation.
The company is also showing clear performance improvement. On a consolidated basis, Mirae Industry's revenue nearly doubled from about KRW 21.7 billion in 2023, CEO Lee's first year in office, to KRW 50.7 billion in 2025. During the same period, operating profit shifted from a deficit to a surplus of KRW 9.1 billion, successfully achieving a turnaround.
Standalone performance also improved. Having recorded KRW 20.3 billion in revenue and an operating loss in 2023, the company achieved KRW 48.8 billion in revenue and KRW 9 billion in operating profit in 2025, simultaneously boosting profitability and growth.
Lee Changjae, CEO of Mirae Industry, commented, "This award is the result of the continuous efforts of all Mirae Industry employees to secure unrivaled technological competitiveness in the semiconductor post-processing sector. We will continue to accelerate the development of core innovative post-processing equipment in response to changes in the global semiconductor market and contribute to the advancement of national science, technology, and industry."
