Namhae County to Launch "Just Dream Project" for Residents Facing Livelihood Crises Starting May 20
Rapid Food Package Assistance Without Complex Documentation
Expected to Address Welfare Blind Spots
Namhae County announced that it will officially launch the "Just Dream Project," a program that provides rapid food assistance to county residents facing sudden livelihood crises, starting from May 20.
The "Just Dream Project" is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to support households in crisis who are in urgent need of help but are unable to immediately receive support through existing welfare systems.
The project will operate on the first floor of the Namhae County General Social Welfare Center every Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Each day, 30 food packages will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, totaling an average of 480 packages per month. The assistance items consist of daily necessities worth approximately 20,000 won, including instant rice and ramen noodles.
County residents who wish to use the service must bring their ID for their first visit and complete a self-assessment checklist. After on-site verification of eligibility and selection as a recipient, they will be able to receive a food package.
In addition, Namhae County plans to provide counseling for second and third-round recipients to check whether they are receiving public benefits and to assess the possibility of linking them to case management services.
