"Kidney Disease Meal Lineup to Reach 100 by Year-End"...Hyundai Green Food Expands Offerings
Launched 80 Varieties Since 2022
Introduces 4 New Kidney Disease Meal Products
Hyundai Green Food has set a goal to expand its care food brand 'Greeting's lineup of kidney disease meal plans, aiming to increase the number of offerings from the current 80 to 100 by the end of this year.
On May 12, Hyundai Green Food announced the launch of four new kidney disease meal products under the Greeting brand. The new products can be ordered through subscription or as single purchases from the official online store, Greeting Mall, which specializes in disease-specific meal plans.

Both the dialysis and non-dialysis meal sets are designed according to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's nutritional standards for kidney disease patient meal plans. The price is 10,500 won per set for dialysis patients and 10,000 won per set for non-dialysis patients.
The meal plans for dialysis patients meet the following criteria: 500 to 800 kcal per meal, protein accounting for at least 12% of total calories, sodium at 650 mg or less, potassium at 800 mg or less, and phosphorus at 350 mg or less. For non-dialysis patients, even stricter standards apply since they do not undergo regular waste removal through dialysis. The non-dialysis meal plans maintain the same caloric content but limit protein to less than 10% of total calories and reduce the potassium threshold to 650 mg or less.
A Hyundai Green Food representative explained, "For kidney disease patient meal plans, protein, potassium, phosphorus, and sodium must be strictly restricted, while calories need to be sufficiently supplied. This requires a diet that is the complete opposite of typical health foods, which usually increase protein and reduce calories. In most households where professional nutritional planning is difficult, potassium- or phosphorus-rich ingredients are often restricted across the board, making meal planning itself very challenging." Due to this difficulty, there is high demand among customers, and according to the company, the repurchase rate for Greeting's kidney disease meal plans is close to 50%.
Since 2022, Hyundai Green Food has launched around 80 products for both dialysis and non-dialysis patients. The company explained that instead of simply restricting certain ingredients, they use advanced cooking techniques to adjust the nutritional content. The use of in-house developed low-sodium sauces also enhances the flavor. In addition to the newly launched products, Hyundai Green Food plans to develop about 20 more items this year, expanding the kidney disease meal lineup from 80 to 100 varieties by year-end.
