In response, Jeong Myunggeun's camp issued a statement saying, "Interfering in the affairs of another locality amounts to overstepping one's authority and may infringe on local autonomy." Candidate Lee immediately responded with sharp criticism.
In a statement, Kwonjae Lee emphasized, "The construction of the Dongtan 2 logistics center is a critical issue that is directly connected to the quality of life and safety of all Osan citizens," adding, "Even if the site is administratively within Hwaseong, Osan citizens, who would have to bear the full brunt of the negative impact, must never be unfairly sacrificed."
Candidate Lee identified "a traffic disaster" as a concrete potential consequence of the logistics center's construction. He stated, "If a massive logistics center is built, the number of vehicles using Local Road No. 82 will reach approximately 12,000 per day, turning Osan’s roads into severe traffic hell." He criticized the opposing stance, saying, "Insisting that we should not concern ourselves with the 'affairs of another locality' while ignoring this reality is an act of disregarding the suffering of Osan citizens."
Lee also made it clear that opposition to the logistics center is not limited to Osan residents but is also strong among residents of Dongtan in Hwaseong.
