“We Deliver Well-being”… Ilgwang-eup in Gijang Launches ‘Ddasum Hanmogum’ Care for Single-Person Households
Delivering Health Beverages and Checking In
A Robust Safety Net to Prevent Solitary Deaths
Ilgwang-eup in Gijang-gun (headed by Son Suok) is launching the "Ddasum, Hanmogum" health beverage support program to prevent solitary deaths among low-income single-person households and promote their health.
This initiative, organized as a specialized project by the Ilgwang-eup Community Social Security Council, will be operated until December, targeting single-person households at high risk of social isolation.
The program involves delivery managers from HY Gijang Branch, who have been appointed as honorary social welfare officials. They will visit the targeted households twice a week to deliver health beverages and check on the recipients' well-being and health status.
In particular, if there are signs of crisis, such as beverages not being collected for an extended period or being unable to contact the recipient, the delivery managers will immediately report the situation to the Ilgwang-eup Administrative Welfare Center to enable a prompt response system.
A delivery manager from HY Gijang Branch said, "It is meaningful to participate in a community-based welfare program," and added, "We will continue our efforts to check on neighbors who live alone and help identify those in welfare blind spots."
