Ansan City Designates 2026 Cadastral Resurvey Project Districts, Aiming to Resolve Boundary Disputes
Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 8 that Geongeon 3 District in Sangnok-gu and Hansawi 2 District in Danwon-gu have been designated and officially announced as cadastral resurvey project districts for 2026.
The designated areas are Geongeon 3 District in Sangnok-gu (around 940-1 Geongeon-dong, 62 parcels) and Hansawi 2 District in Danwon-gu (around 1143 Daebunam-dong, 151 parcels). Both districts were designated after obtaining the consent of more than two-thirds of the landowners.
The cadastral resurvey project is a national initiative aimed at correcting discrepancies between the actual status of land and cadastral records, while converting them to a digital cadastral system. This helps reduce land boundary disputes and protects citizens' property rights.
Geongeon 3 District and Hansawi 2 District have continuously experienced complaints due to boundary mismatches and decreased accuracy of cadastral maps. The city selected these areas as project sites after comprehensively considering the necessity and urgency of the project.
Prior to the district designations, Ansan City established an implementation plan in October of last year. Since then, the city has utilized advanced methods such as GNSS surveying and drone imaging to install cadastral reference points and conduct resurvey measurements.
Going forward, the city plans to complete the project by October 2027 through procedures including boundary adjustment, boundary confirmation, and the preparation of new cadastral records.
