Strategies for Public HRD in the Age of AI and More Discussed

The Seoul Regional Human Resources Development Committee (Seoul RSC) announced on May 8 that it successfully hosted the "2026 Central Region Human Resources Development Committee Workshop" over the course of two days, from May 7 to May 8, at the Hotel Atrium in Seoul.

This event was jointly organized by the four RSCs responsible for the central region—Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon—out of the 17 regional human resources development committees (RSCs) nationwide. The workshop was attended by approximately 100 participants, including dedicated staff from each regional committee, as well as representatives from related organizations such as the local Employment and Labor Offices, the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and joint training centers.

The workshop was designed with several objectives in mind: sharing the overall survey results on training provision by the Central Region RSCs; identifying issues related to training new talent in response to the transition to AI; and exploring ways to foster organic cooperation among practitioners.

In particular, expert lectures reflecting recent social issues received enthusiastic responses from the participants. The lecture titled "Strategies for Public HRD in the Age of AI" provided guidance on the direction of public vocational training during the digital transformation era. Another special lecture, "AI Technology Connecting Local Communities and Reclusive Young People," addressed practical ways to utilize AI to help isolated youth join the labor market.

Lee Hwanhee, Secretary General of the Seoul RSC, stated, "The central region will take the lead in pioneering innovative public talent development solutions to address the challenges facing our society, such as the transition to the AI industry and youth isolation."

Meanwhile, since January of last year, the Innoviz Association has been operating the Seoul RSC after taking over its management.
