Taebaek City in Gangwon Province announced that it will hold the first round of the '2026 Taebaek Mayor's Speed Festival' at the Taebaek Speedway over two days, from May 9 to May 10, 2026.

In particular, a variety of side events will be organized, including 'Gymkhana,' which helps participants improve their driving skills, and a racing car exhibition. These programs are designed to create an interactive motorsports festival that both residents and tourists can enjoy together.
An official from Taebaek City stated, "With the arrival of spring, we hope that families visiting the festival will have the opportunity to enjoy racing competitions up close, which are usually difficult to experience. We will continue to attract and operate various motorsports events to further invigorate the local community."
