At the request of the TF led by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Administration Office, the program was held the previous day at the Toss Sinnonhyeon office in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, with 16 related public officials in attendance.
The visiting group came to the Toss Sinnonhyeon office to directly explore practical cases for introducing advanced organizational culture and improving work methods.
The program consisted of a presentation and Q&A session led by Seo-Hyun Kim, Head of Organizational Culture at Toss. For approximately 40 minutes, Kim introduced Toss's organizational culture management principles and member experience design methods.
In particular, she focused on the management structure that minimizes decision-making steps and maximizes horizontal communication among practitioners, in line with the principle of "autonomy and responsibility."
During the Q&A session, concrete discussions were held considering the public sector environment. The visiting group inquired about practical management methods such as how to build trust between different ranks in a horizontal communication system, and support programs for diagnosing member capabilities and developing expertise.
Toss's case studies on embedding AI into the organization also attracted strong interest from the visiting group.
Toss introduced its AI competency enhancement program for all members, "AI Surf Day," sharing their initiatives and operational examples for embedding AI throughout the organization.
AI Surf Day is a system introduced last month to help Toss members apply AI in their actual work to boost productivity. The visiting group showed great interest in how AI technology is connected to work efficiency and performance in real-world work environments.
After the presentation, the visiting group toured the office, observing Toss's work environment and space design that fosters collaboration and autonomous work, and took a closer look at Toss's working methods.
A TF official commented, "Many TF members selected Toss as a company they wanted to visit, which made this visit possible. From user-centered language and team composition to proactive working methods and a culture of autonomy and responsibility built on high trust, Toss's organizational culture was extremely impressive."
