Sharing Stories of Honam's History, Figures, and Culture
Seo District in Gwangju Metropolitan City will host a special humanities lecture featuring author Kim Tak-hwan at Seobitmaru Library on May 13.
Kim Tak-hwan is widely recognized as the original author of the historical epic novel "The Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-sin" and has also written works focusing on history and historical figures, including the films "Detective K" and "The Great Kim Chang-soo," as well as the dramas "The Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-sin" and "Hwang Jin Yi."
During the lecture, Kim will share his creative journey and literary world, drawing from his experiences in Gokseong, Jeollanam-do, and the insights he has gained about the nature, people, and history of the Honam region, all of which have shaped his humanistic sensibility.
Since relocating his writing studio to Gokseong, Jeollanam-do in 2021, Kim has been running the ecological bookstore "Field's Heart" while continuing to write full-length novels.
