Gyeonggi Province Designates 27 Districts Including Sindae 2 in Pyeongtaek for Cadastral Resurvey
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government has designated a total of 27 districts in 13 cities and counties, including the Sindae 2 District in Pyeongtaek City, as cadastral resurvey project zones.
On May 7, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that, in order to fundamentally resolve inconveniences faced by residents, it has prioritized 27 districts—where approval has been received from at least two-thirds of both the total number of landowners and the total land area within each scheduled project zone—for the full-scale implementation of the cadastral resurvey project.
To ensure swift and efficient project execution, the province pre-selected the project zones for this year by conducting a preliminary review, together with officials from 30 cities and counties, starting in August 2025. This review evaluated the expected effects of the project, the degree of inconsistency in cadastral records, and the appropriateness of district boundary settings. The province also plans to complete the designation of the remaining project target zones by July this year.
Kim Yongjae, Director of the Land Information Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "Through the cadastral resurvey project, we will work actively to resolve resident conflicts stemming from land boundary disputes and to enhance the utility value of land, enabling residents to tangibly experience the results of the project."

Once the new land boundaries are finalized through on-site surveys, measurements, boundary adjustments, and settlement procedures conducted by the relevant city, county, or district under the Gyeonggi Provincial Government's jurisdiction, the process will continue seamlessly through cadastral record updates and registration. All associated costs, including survey and registration fees, will be provided free of charge. The cadastral resurvey will enable previously landlocked lots to gain road access, and irregularly shaped plots will become regularized, thereby increasing the practical value of the land.
