View original imageThe Hyeonchungsa Management Office announced on May 7 that it will hold a rice planting experience event at Admiral Yi Sun-sin's ancestral land (Wito) at 10 a.m. on May 30 to mark the 481st anniversary of Admiral Yi Sun-sin's birth.
Wito refers to land set aside to cover expenses for ancestral rites and related needs. Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Wito faced the risk of being auctioned off in May 1931, but was preserved thanks to a nationwide fundraising campaign.

The event will begin with a visit to Admiral Yi Sun-sin's tomb. After a safety briefing, participants will proceed to rice planting. There will also be a traditional pungmulnori performance, and lunch boxes will be provided after the experience. An archery activity will be available for children. The event will accommodate 200 participants.
