Sejung Nanum Foundation Trains Career-Interrupted Women as Cultural Arts Instructors
Supporting Self-Reliance with Corporate Resources
Combining Image Consulting and Professional Training
The Sejung Nanum Foundation (Chairman Park Soonho) has launched a full-scale initiative to train cultural arts instructors in order to support the economic independence and social reintegration of women who have experienced career interruptions and those from vulnerable groups.
This program is notable for going beyond simple support by combining self-esteem recovery with professional vocational training, thus establishing a sustainable model of social contribution.
On April 28, at the Sejung Group headquarters in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, the Sejung Nanum Foundation held a signing ceremony for an agreement to support the “Cultural Arts Instructor Training Program” with the education-focused organization Another Day and the Geumjeong-gu Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
This project targets 20 local women from vulnerable backgrounds, including those who have experienced career interruptions due to childbirth and childcare, as well as single mothers and unmarried mothers. Participants will enhance their vocational skills through a specialized training course for cultural arts instructors and gain opportunities to engage in community activities.
A distinguishing feature of the project is the inclusion of an image consulting program in collaboration with Sejung Group’s women’s fashion brand, Olivia Lauren. The Sejung Nanum Foundation will invest a total budget of 45 million won, providing participants with styling education tailored to various times, places, and occasions (TPO), as well as clothing support worth approximately 1.25 million won per person.
The foundation explained that restoring external confidence is a crucial first step toward social reintegration and that it proactively leveraged the strengths of a fashion company in designing the program.
Another Day, a specialized education agency, will operate the training. The program consists of four stages over 12 weeks, covering basic competency education, practical training, content development, pilot lectures, and career linkage.
The Geumjeong-gu Comprehensive Social Welfare Center will provide educational space and facilitate on-site practice. After completing the program, graduates are expected to work as cultural arts instructors at local welfare institutions, thereby contributing to the expansion of cultural welfare in the community.
Since 2022, the Sejung Nanum Foundation has continued to operate related programs, producing 75 graduates to date and offering practical training opportunities in partnership with more than 30 institutions.
