Yangju City Relaunches Fire Prevention Support for EV Charging Facilities...Up to 2 Million Won in Subsidies
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on April 28 that it will relaunch the 'Fire Prevention Facility Installation Support Project' to prevent major accidents caused by fires at electric vehicle charging facilities.
This renewed announcement was prompted by the fact that the number of applications in the previous round fell short of the planned amount. The city aims to expand participation and enhance the safety of electric vehicle usage.
The support is available for public facilities with 50 or more parking spaces and apartment complexes with 100 or more households. Eligible public facilities include neighborhood living facilities, cultural and assembly facilities, sales, medical, and educational facilities, but only those that have completed the mandatory installation of electric vehicle charging stations may apply.
The supported items are limited to products equipped with thermal imaging cameras and fire suppression blankets, provided they have test reports from accredited institutions. The city covers 50% of the purchase and installation costs for these facilities, with a maximum subsidy of 2 million won per facility.
Applications are open from April 27 to May 29. Facility owners or managers can apply in person at the City Hall's Climate and Energy Department or by email. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the final recipients will be selected after an eligibility review. The program may close early if the budget runs out.
Further details can be found in the notices and announcements section on the Yangju City website.
