In this extremely dangerous situation, with cars passing right next to the child, a passing citizen fortunately noticed her, ran onto the road, and rushed to rescue her. After carrying the child to the sidewalk, the citizen called the police.

While some officers comforted and cared for the child, other officers searched the area where she was found.
The decisive clue that led to the child's home was the scent of fabric softener on her clothes. Kang Seungwoo, a police officer from Yongwon Police Precinct, was searching mainly the first floor of nearby buildings when he detected the scent of fabric softener at the entrance of a house. Upon checking, it was confirmed that this house was the child's home. Ultimately, the child was safely reunited with her family. It was reported that she had wandered outside alone while her mother was briefly at work.
