Mayor Kim stated that, ahead of her impending suspension from official duties due to her preliminary candidate registration, she personally finalized preparations for the supplementary budget proposal for the first half of the year. The supplementary budget, organized by Anseong City on the 21st, amounts to a total of 18 billion won and is a "one-point" budget aimed at overcoming the crisis of high oil prices and inflation caused by instability in the Middle East.
Key provisions include 14.9 billion won in compensation payments for households in the bottom 70% income bracket affected by high oil prices, K-Pass refund support, and support for the issuance of local currency. The fact that Mayor Kim oversaw these matters right up until her preliminary candidate registration is interpreted as a strong message that she prioritizes the lives of citizens and aims to minimize administrative gaps, even during the election period.
The declaration of candidacy also included industrial achievements and specific figures. The main budget for Anseong City for 2026 has grown to 1.284 trillion won, with the general account alone amounting to 1.1 trillion won.
In the industrial sector, the Dongshin General Industrial Complex was officially renamed "Anseong Campus for Semiconductor Materials, Parts, and Equipment," marking the full-scale establishment of a specialized hub for semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment. Hyundai Motor and Kia also announced that in November 2025, they will build the Future Mobility Battery Anseong Campus in Anseong's 5th General Industrial Complex. The achievements cited by Mayor Kim in attracting investment and transitioning Anseong into an industrial city are based on these projects.
Mayor Kim Bora then emphasized policy continuity after her re-election and presented seven core strategies. The direction is summarized as an advanced-technology industrial city, a cultural and ecological tourism city, a people-centered happy city, an AI lifelong learning city, a clean energy city, a future-oriented agricultural city, and an inclusive and balanced development city.
Major initiatives include expanding the industrial base focused on semiconductors and future vehicles, revitalizing tourism by connecting lakes and traditional culture, strengthening welfare across all life stages, expanding renewable energy and agricultural policies, and improving transportation and deregulation. She also mentioned that the completion of ongoing issues—such as attracting a railway, resolving the Yucheon Water Intake Plant issue, and establishing the Anseong Campus for Semiconductor Materials, Parts, and Equipment—will require sustained negotiation and execution capabilities with the central government and Gyeonggi Province.
The structure of the Anseong mayoral race is already largely set. The Democratic Party has nominated Mayor Kim Bora as its sole candidate early on, and with Kim Jangyeon running for the People Power Party, the Anseong mayoral election is shaping up to be a two-way contest.
