"Flower of the Police": Four Gyeongnam Provincial Police Officers Selected for Senior Superintendent Promotion
Four police officers from the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency have been included in the list for this year's first round of promotions to Senior Superintendent.
On April 23, the National Police Agency announced that 102 Superintendents have been selected as candidates for promotion to Senior Superintendent.

Among them, four officers from the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency were selected: Kim Sang-il from Investigation Division 2, Lee Kyung-rang from the Law Compliance Support Division of the Security Intelligence Department, Baek Jin-ho from the Audit Division under the Inspector General for Human Rights, and Kim Jong-seok from the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Division 1.

The rank of Senior Superintendent, often referred to as the "flower of the police," is the fifth highest position within the police hierarchy, following Commissioner General, Deputy Commissioner General, Commissioner, and Senior Superintendent General. It is a commanding rank, typically assigned to heads of police stations or division heads at the National Police Agency and provincial police agencies.
