Yeonsu Happiness Sports Center Completed in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon: "Strengthening Sports Infrastructure in the Original Downtown"
The Yeonsu Happiness Sports Center has been established at 581-2 Yeonsu-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon.
On April 23, Yeonsu-gu held a completion ceremony for the Yeonsu Happiness Sports Center, attended by Mayor Lee Jae-ho, Incheon City Council members, Yeonsu District Council members, and local residents.
The center was built with a total project cost of 19.3 billion won, featuring four above-ground floors and a total floor area of 2,902 square meters. It includes a swimming pool (25 meters, six lanes, and a children's pool), a fitness center, a multi-purpose gymnasium, and a rooftop artificial turf and jogging track.
The district also developed a grass plaza and parking lot on the remaining land, creating an open space where all residents can conveniently enjoy recreational sports and leisure activities.
Initially, the district had planned to construct the Yeonsu Culture and Arts Center, but due to practical constraints such as increased project costs and additional administrative procedures, it changed the direction to a sports facility, resulting in the establishment of the Yeonsu Happiness Sports Center. In particular, the center was selected for the National Sports Center project, securing 3 billion won in national funding and thereby reducing the financial burden.
The district plans to officially open the center in July after trial operations and pilot programs.
