President Lee Jae-myung, who is on a state visit to Vietnam, took a walk with his wife, First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, in the Old Quarter near Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on the 23rd (local time), where they met with local residents.
According to Deputy Spokesperson An Gui-ryeong of the Blue House in a written briefing, local residents who encountered President Lee greeted the couple in Korean, saying "Annyeonghaseyo" ("Hello") and "Bangapseumnida" ("Nice to meet you").
In response, President Lee and the First Lady replied in Vietnamese with "Xin chao," meaning "Hello," and exchanged handshakes and high-fives with the residents.

Deputy Spokesperson An also reported that President Lee tasted grilled pork skewers and sugarcane juice sold by street vendors and bought durian to share with his accompanying staff.
Afterwards, the presidential couple moved to a nearby restaurant, where they had dinner consisting of pho and fried rice. Following their meal, they took another stroll around the lake and waved to residents, concluding their schedule for the evening.
