The program is led by Professor Cho Youngju from Chosun University, with participation from Kim Yura, Team Manager at I-Plan Co., Ltd., and student teaching assistant Cho Yoonseong from the Department of AI and Software (Computer Engineering major) at Chosun University.
The program operates on an "AI+X Book Linkage" model, where students read a book each week and implement the contents using robots and LEGO. Through the process of building robots and coding their movements, students gain a practical understanding of AI principles and naturally develop digital literacy and AI ethics competencies.
The creative and convergent curriculum, which involves designing "meaningful paths" for robots to convey themes and messages derived from the books, and presenting these projects as teams, has received enthusiastic responses from participating students.
One student who took part in the camp shared, "It is much more fun and fascinating to create the stories from books with cute robots and LEGO pieces. I can't wait for Saturday to arrive so I can work on robot missions with the professor."
Professor Cho Youngju stated, "I hope the newly introduced AI+X Book Linkage education this year will serve as a solid foundation for students to grow into core talents in creativity and convergence for the digital era. I also look forward to seeing this camp foster AI professionals who can bring a positive influence to society as a whole."
