From Kiosk Practice to On-site Training

First-Come, First-Served Registration Opens on the 20th

Songpa District in Seoul will be operating a 'Digital Literacy Learning Center' education program starting in May for residents who are not familiar with using smartphones and artificial intelligence (AI).

This initiative was launched after the district was selected for the '2026 Digital Literacy Learning Center Operation Project' by the Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Agency. The curriculum focuses on everyday situations that residents frequently encounter, aiming to lower the barriers to digital devices and help participants naturally build experience using them.

The classes will be held at the Songpa Run Head Center (3rd floor of the KT Building next to Songpa District Office). The program is comprised of step-by-step courses ranging from basic to advanced usage, including “Welcome to Your First Smartphone? (Basic & Advanced),” “Maximizing KakaoTalk and Kiosk Usage,” and “Smart AI Life Guide (Basic & Advanced).”

The smartphone course covers essential daily functions such as sending messages, managing photos, using YouTube, accessing Government24, and shopping. In the kiosk course, participants will practice movie ticket booking, ordering fast food, and using bank ATMs.

The AI course starts with the basics of prompts and covers practical applications such as foreign language translation and navigation. The advanced stage expands to include schedule management, planning trips, and content creation.

Alongside the level-based courses, this program also provides field training at locations such as Lotte World Mall, banks, and public institutions. Participants will also experience visiting AI-powered unmanned stores and trying out self-checkout systems.

The program is open to all adult residents of Songpa District who are either unfamiliar with digital devices or interested in learning about AI. All courses are free of charge. Registration for the basic course will begin on the 20th at 10:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Detailed schedules and application methods for each class can be found on the ‘Songpa Run Education Portal.’

An official from Songpa District stated, “Digital technology and AI proficiency are now essential skills in daily life,” adding, “We will continue to expand support so that all residents can naturally access related education in their everyday lives.”
