Protea Announces Preliminary Q1 Results: Sales Reach 3.82 Billion Won, Operating Profit 760 Million Won
Simultaneous Growth in Allergy Diagnostic Products and Diagnostic Equipment
Protea announced on April 20 that its preliminary sales for the first quarter of this year reached 3.82 billion won with operating profit at 760 million won.
These figures represent increases of 41.8% and 84.4%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Net profit for the period rose by 53.8% to 1.12 billion won.
The company attributed the improved performance to the solid growth of its core business segment—diagnostic products for allergies. Sales of human-use allergy diagnostic products increased by approximately 45% year-on-year in both the domestic and overseas markets, and sales of diagnostic equipment also grew by about 40%, driving overall revenue growth.
A Protea official stated, "Domestic allergy diagnostic products grew by more than 60%, and as sales of diagnostic equipment increased, the sales volume of diagnostic kits is also expected to expand further."
After the second half of 2025, Protea plans to supply its premium product, ‘PROTIA Allergy-Q 192D’, which can test for 176 types of allergens at once, to the domestic market to boost market share. At the same time, it aims to expand exports by pursuing CE IVDR certification.
Additionally, the company’s antibiotic susceptibility diagnostic product, which was exported to Europe last year, is set to launch in the Southwest Asia region, with discussions underway for additional supplies to other countries.
