Busan Metropolitan City will host an international event aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and popularization of the marine leisure industry.
On April 16, Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced that it will hold the "2026 Busan International Boat Show" from April 17 to 19 at BEXCO and the Suyeong River area.
This event, co-hosted with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, marks its 12th edition this year. It aims to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic marine leisure industry and to promote marine sports among the public.
At Exhibition Hall 1 in BEXCO, 146 companies in the marine leisure sector will participate, showcasing a wide range of equipment and technologies such as yachts, boats, communication and safety devices, and fishing gear. On-site, a business meeting will also be held with buyers from 18 companies across 9 countries, including Europe and Asia, to support domestic companies in expanding into overseas markets.
During the event period, an international conference titled "The Era of AI: Current Status and Prospects of the Global Boat Industry" will take place. Starting from April 18, selected films from the International Ocean Film Festival will be screened as special features.
Experience programs have also been expanded. At the BEXCO exhibition hall, visitors can try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), inflatable boats, surfing, and VR-based marine safety content. In the Haeundae River Cruise area along the Suyeong River, various water leisure programs such as yacht boarding experiences will be offered.
The opening ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on April 17 at BEXCO. Citizens wishing to participate can receive visitor information through the Busan International Boat Show website.
