Cheongdo County Shifts to Acting Leadership... Full Commitment to Seamless Administration
On April 14, Cheongdo County transitioned to an acting leadership system under Deputy Governor Kim Donggi, following the pre-candidacy registration of County Governor Ha-Soo Kim. The county is now focusing its administrative efforts on ensuring stable governance and the uninterrupted advancement of key pending projects, with no gaps in public administration.
On April 15, Acting Governor Kim Donggi convened an emergency executive meeting, urging officials to fully commit to stabilizing residents' livelihoods, maintaining thorough disaster response, continuously driving forward core projects, establishing support systems linked to the government's supplementary budget for livelihood support funds for those affected by high energy prices, and devising comprehensive energy countermeasures.
In addition, the county will meticulously review various livelihood initiatives such as support for small businesses, integrated care for children and seniors, medical support systems, and comprehensive disaster response including wildfire prevention. These efforts are intended to proactively address issues directly affecting residents’ daily lives.
Furthermore, the county plans to give special attention to major projects that will drive future regional growth and improve settlement conditions, such as the Cheongdo Natural Dream Park, Urban Regeneration New Deal, and Local Vitality Town Creation Project. Core projects aimed at expanding the foundation for culture, arts, and tourism—like the Artist Creative Village and the Lifestyle Culture Complex Center—will also be closely monitored and advanced without delay, with careful oversight of progress and processes.
Disaster response measures will be further strengthened, particularly. In order to proactively address climate crises such as sudden heavy rain and torrential downpours, the county will invest special allocation grants in disaster prevention projects through June, intensively working to improve disaster-vulnerable areas. Efforts will also be made to ensure that improvement projects for designated natural disaster risk zones are completed as early as possible.
With the arrival of a period of heightened wildfire risk, the county will also bolster its wildfire prevention and initial response systems. By intensifying inspections and monitoring in wildfire-prone areas, the county will make every effort to protect the lives and property of its residents from disasters.
