The Royal Tomb Eight Scenic Spots consists of eight courses: Taejo's Path (Donggureung in Guri), Sejong's Path (Yeongneung and Yeongneung in Yeoju), Danjong's Path (Jangneung in Yeongwol and Sareung in Namyangju), King and Retainers' Path (Jangneung in Paju), Jeongjo's Path (Yungneung and Geonneung in Hwaseong), Gwangju Magistrate's Path (Heonneung and Inneung in Seoul), Royal Parent's Path (Soryeongwon in Paju and Seosamneung in Goyang), and Emperor Gojong's Path (Uireung in Seoul).
This year, reflecting the popularity of the film "The King and the Man Who Lives," the Danjong's Path course has been expanded from a one-day trip to a two-day, one-night itinerary. The journey starts at Changdeokgung Palace, passes through Cheongnyeongpo and Jangneung in Yeongwol, Sareung in Namyangju, and ends at Yeongnyeongjeon Hall in Jongmyo Shrine. This expanded route will be offered three times in April, May, and October.
Four new in-depth courses have also been introduced, where participants can listen to renowned experts' commentaries. Professor Shin Byungjoo of Konkuk University and others will provide commentary for Taejo's Path (May 11), Jeongjo's Path (September 6), Gwangju Magistrate's Path (June 12), and Royal Parent's Path (September 12).
