ARDMS is a globally recognized ultrasound certification body, widely regarded as a key standard in international medical practice. In particular, the SPI exam is considered a vital gateway that comprehensively evaluates core principles of diagnostic ultrasound, including ultrasound physics, equipment settings, hemodynamics, safety, and quality control.
This achievement is significant as it demonstrates that students from the Department of Radiological Science at Dongsin University possess global-level theoretical and practical competencies, enabling them to operate advanced ultrasound equipment with precision and produce optimal diagnostic images.
The Department of Radiological Science at Dongsin University has focused on fostering specialized professionals capable of responding immediately to the rapidly changing medical imaging sector by establishing an education curriculum and practical learning environment that meet international standards. In particular, the systematic education system and close guidance from faculty members such as Professor Choo Seowon are recognized as key contributors to these results.
Successful candidate Kim Sungyoon shared, "The preparation process was not easy, but thanks to the professor's meticulous guidance, I was able to clearly understand the principles of ultrasound. I will continue to study diligently to grow into an internationally certified sonographer who provides the best possible medical services to patients."
Those who pass the SPI exam are eligible to take subsequent specialized qualification exams in clinical fields such as Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN), and Adult Echocardiography. Upon earning the final international certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), they are expected to be recognized for their expertise in both domestic and overseas medical institutions and research fields.
