The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office summoned Mr. Jeon on the 13th as a suspect on charges including defamation by spreading false information under the Information and Communications Network Act. The prosecutor may interview and investigate the suspect and their lawyer, if necessary, to review the grounds for detention in connection with the arrest warrant request.
Jeon Hangil at a Crossroads of Detention: "Detaining Jeon Hangil Means the End of the Lee Administration"
Before entering the prosecutors' office, Mr. Jeon told his supporters gathered outside, "These excessive complaints and accusations against Jeon Hangil are acts of political retaliation." He further stated, "Detaining Jeon Hangil signals the end of the Lee Jaemyung administration. If you think you can handle it, go ahead and detain me."
He continued, "President Trump arrested Maduro of Venezuela, killed Khamenei of Iran, and who will be next? Whether it will be Lee Jaemyung or Kim Jong Un, I don't know. But is it wrong to ask for an investigation into allegations of election fraud?"
He added, "Due to the U.S.-Iran war, the White House invitation has been postponed to May, but can the Lee Jaemyung administration handle the consequences if they detain Jeon Hangil, who is scheduled to visit the White House?" He also emphasized, "There are four politicians who are considered public enemies by the youth in their 20s and 30s: criminal Lee Jaemyung, criminal Cho Kuk, fugitive Lee Junseok, and traitor Han Donghoon. These four must disappear from politics."
When Asked About Verifying Allegations, He Said: "Citing Reports"
However, when asked how he verified the allegations related to the charges, he avoided a direct answer, saying, "I only cited reports; I was not the first to raise such suspicions."
Mr. Jeon appeared at the Dongjak Police Station in Seoul on February 12 to undergo a police investigation and is addressing the press.

Additionally, regarding the alleged influx of 900,000 barrels of Ulsan oil into North Korea, he was sued by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
