On April 13, at the funeral hall of Daeseong Hospital in Wando, Prime Minister Kim Minseok and Assemblyman Park Jie-won exchanged words with sorrowful expressions. They were joined by Minister of the Interior and Safety Yoon Ho-jung, Min Hyung-bae and Kim Young-rok, candidates for the integrated mayor of Jeonnam and Gwangju, Myung Hyun-kwan, candidate for governor of Haenam, and Shin Woo-cheol, governor of Wando, as well as other key central and regional figures. Standing together before the portrait of the deceased, they paid deep tribute to the firefighters who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty.
