Daejeon City Selects 12 Companies for "Good Workplace Creation Project"
Creating Safe and Happy Workplaces Through Labor-Management Cooperation
Daejeon City has selected 12 companies to participate in the 2026 Daejeon-style labor-management win-win model, the "Good Workplace Creation Project," where labor and management work together to improve working conditions.
This year, the "Good Workplace Creation Project" accepted applications through a public call from January 21 to February 12, with a total of 24 companies applying. After review by the selection evaluation committee, 12 companies were finally chosen.
The eligible companies are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with at least 10 regular employees that have operated their headquarters or workplaces in Daejeon for more than three years (factory registration is required for manufacturing companies). In particular, there was notable participation from companies strongly committed to improving workplace safety and working environments, introducing staggered working hours and flexible work arrangements, and fostering a culture of work-life balance.
The selected companies are: ▲Group 1 (50 or more employees): RPS Co., Ltd. (1 company); ▲Group 2 (30 to 49 employees): Rigas Co., Ltd., Sereco Co., Ltd., CHCLab Co., Ltd., FS Co., Ltd., PeopleEye Co., Ltd. (5 companies); ▲Group 3 (10 to 29 employees): StepLab Co., Ltd., SES Co., Ltd., ITC Co., Ltd., Edisoft Co., Ltd., Hans Industry Co., Ltd., Haetnip Food Co., Ltd. (6 companies).
These companies are required to implement the following mandatory tasks among the "10 Daejeon-style Promises": ▲compliance with the 52-hour workweek ▲improvement of safety and health management systems ▲workplace awareness improvement training ▲creation of a work-life balance environment.
Additionally, they will establish detailed implementation plans for optional tasks such as ▲creating youth jobs ▲building a communication system based on employee participation ▲improving the work environment ▲fostering a cooperative labor-management culture ▲advancing human resource management ▲supporting cultural and leisure activities.
Daejeon City plans to hold a joint workshop in April and officially launch the project.
Each selected company will receive project funding ranging from 30 million won to 50 million won, and they must complete the required tasks by December this year. Furthermore, if a company is selected as an excellent company through a performance evaluation in February 2027, it will receive a "Good Workplace Excellent Company" certification for three years and up to an additional 30 million won in support funds.
Jae-Hwa Park, Director of Economic Affairs at Daejeon City, stated, "The Good Workplace Creation Project is a program where labor and management improve the working environment together and promote work-life balance. We expect it will contribute to establishing a sound labor-management culture in the region."
