Shinhan Card Launches 'Emart Shinhan Card' to Ease High Inflation Burden
15% Discount at Emart Affiliates
Annual Fee: 18,000 Won for Domestic Use
Shinhan Card announced on March 26 that it has launched the 'Emart Shinhan Card' to help ease consumers' grocery expenses in an era of high inflation.
The Emart Shinhan Card offers a 15% discount on billing day when used at major Emart-affiliated merchants. The eligible Emart-affiliated merchants are grouped into six key categories closely related to daily life.
These categories are: ▲Mart (Emart, Traders Wholesale Club) ▲Supermarket (Emart Everyday) ▲Convenience Store (Emart24) ▲Café (Starbucks) ▲Online Shopping (SSG.COM) ▲Specialty Stores (No Brand, Electromart, Molly’s Pet Shop, Toy Kingdom, Goods Shop Landers Field branch).
The combined monthly discount limit for Emart-affiliated services is 20,000 won for cardholders who spent between 400,000 won and less than 1 million won in the previous month, and 50,000 won for those who spent 1 million won or more. Notably, the amount of discounts received at Emart affiliates is also counted toward the previous month’s spending, thereby providing additional benefits. The Emart Shinhan Card is also equipped with the Shinsegae Point Card function, so Shinsegae Points provided by Emart affiliates are automatically accumulated upon payment.
At all domestic and overseas merchants excluding Emart affiliates, 0.5% of the card spending is accumulated as My Shinhan Points, regardless of the previous month’s spending. The maximum monthly accumulation is 30,000 won.
To commemorate the card launch, Shinhan Card is holding an event offering up to 100,000 won in cashback. Customers with no record of using a Shinhan personal credit card in the past six months can receive 100,000 won in cashback if they spend a total of 100,000 won or more with the Emart Shinhan Card at offline Emart, Traders Wholesale Club, Everyday, or No Brand stores by the end of this month. Existing Shinhan personal credit cardholders who have not previously made payments at the event merchants with the Emart Shinhan Card can receive 20,000 won in cashback under the same conditions.
