Ministry of SMEs and Startups to Continue AI Policy Briefings for SMEs and Startups
Explanation of Support Programs and Collection of Field Feedback Following the Implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Basic Act
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on March 24 that they will hold additional policy briefings to explain the systems and support programs needed by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) following the implementation of the “Artificial Intelligence Basic Act.” The briefings are intended to enhance SMEs’ and startups’ ability to respond to legal and regulatory changes and to reflect feedback from the field in policy during the regulatory grace period.
Since January, the briefings, jointly organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Science and ICT, have received a strong response, with more than 300 people attending on-site and around 9,000 people watching via YouTube broadcast. The previous sessions introduced the main points of the “Artificial Intelligence Basic Act,” which came into effect on January 22, 2026, and presented support programs beneficial to businesses.
Future briefings will be held in conjunction with events by relevant organizations and associations, and will also be live-streamed on YouTube to increase public communication and policy accessibility. This will allow companies unable to attend in person to participate in live Q&A sessions. In addition, one-on-one consultation services will be offered to SMEs and startups on topics such as legal issues and investment.
