Shinil Electronics Achieves 5.2 Billion Won Operating Profit Last Year on Growth in Cooling and Heating Appliance Sales
Cooling Appliance Sales Up 13% with Folding Fans and Air Circulators
Heating Appliance Sales, Including Fan Heaters, Rise 23% Year-on-Year
Shinil Electronics recorded a consolidated operating profit of 5.2 billion won last year, driven by balanced growth in both cooling and heating appliances, as well as the expansion of its general home appliance lineup.
On March 24, Shinil Electronics announced that its consolidated sales for last year reached 193.9 billion won, up 9% from the previous year, while operating profit grew by 30% to 5.2 billion won.
This performance is the result of a stable sales structure centered on seasonal appliances, coupled with a strategy to expand its general home appliance product lines. More than 70% of Shinil’s sales come from seasonal appliances such as cooling and heating products, while the remainder comes from general appliances like kitchen and lifestyle products.
The combination of increasing demand for seasonal appliances due to climate factors and the rise of single-person households contributed to stable market formation and an expanded sales base.
Among these, major cooling appliance categories drove overall sales growth. Fan sales reached 96.4 billion won, a year-on-year increase of about 5%. In particular, sales of folding fans from January to May last year surged 63% compared to the same period in the previous year. The air circulator surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 4 million units last year, solidifying its position as a flagship seasonal appliance.
In addition, summer appliances such as dehumidifiers and portable air conditioners saw sales rise by approximately 13% to 12.9 billion won. As a result, the proportion of cooling appliances in total sales expanded, supporting the overall growth in performance.
Boosted by increased seasonal demand, heating appliance sales also rose. Sales of winter appliances such as fan heaters and PTC heaters increased by approximately 23.1% year-on-year, reinforcing the sales structure centered around seasonal appliances.
To mitigate performance volatility caused by seasonality, Shinil has been expanding its general home appliance segment to include kitchen and lifestyle appliances. General appliances have now grown to account for over 20% of total sales. By expanding its lineup with new products such as the ‘Sayyes Fermo Carrier’, food warmers, and food waste processors, the company is diversifying its business portfolio and continuing to improve its results.
